Bracket Watch Update: Wild Week Jostles Tourney Seeding

After a win Wednesday, where will the New Mexico Lobos end up in the latest Bracket Watch? (Greg Nelson/SI)
It can’t be denied any longer (well, unless you’re a New Mexico fan making a perfectly reasonable point about the Lobos’ resume in comparison). Gonzaga has moved to the 1-seed line with just more than a week to go before Selection Sunday. With two more wins, games in which they will be anywhere from heavily to considerably favored, the Bulldogs very well might join 2004 Saint Joe’s as a “1-seed Cinderella” on merit.
The picture at the bottom of the bracket? Ugh. Much like a golfer who posts an OK round and then sits in the clubhouse and watches the field come back to him, the best move at this point seems to be “play as few games as possible” and have everyone else lose around you.
All of this should make championship week as dramatic in terms of shaping the bracket as we have seen in awhile.

All of these national guys are so in love with Michigan. Seems like they have an idea that Michigan is such a great team that they keep them a 2 seed no matter what. Tied for fourth in the conference, six Big Ten losses, including losing to Penn State, and still a No. 2? I have a feeling they could lose ten in a row and still be highly regarded. These national guys need to start looking at results instead of falling in love with the names on the roster.
New Mexico fans have nothing to whine about. They played a cream puff schedule.
Why is Ohio State as a 4 seed having to play in San Jose potentially against UCLA when Dayton is available? Is that what the Selection Committee refers to as higher seeded disadvantage?
so Pitt is ranked in both the AP and Coaches Poll yet you have them as an 8 seed. What am i missing???
@steelcurtain81 Nothing, he has had Pitt as barely a tourney team all season. He actually had them completely out of the tourney a few weeks back, when they were something like 16-3. He just doesn't pay any attention to Pitt or flat or doesn't like them. I'll be curious to see what he does after this weekend considering that Pitt will finish higher then Syracuse in the Big East and have a head to head victory over them...he'll probably still have them well ahead of Pitt.
@Shawn7 @steelcurtain81 24-7 after beating DePaul today at least a 4th place finish in the big east! Beat Georgetown in DC by 28 but an 8th seed! LmaoJoe lunardi got no comp from this dude smh
