Bracket Watch: Conference Conflict Plagues Seedings

Creighton's conference conflict may have been ironed out, but others remain. (Nati Harnik/AP)

Creighton’s conference conflict may have been ironed out, but others remain. (Nati Harnik/AP)

Saint Mary’s remains in the bracket for now, but drops into the First Four, which is not a great place to be this early in championship week, when a lot of teams below you can still pick up quality wins. The rematch between Creighton and Boise State was fixed, but there are still numerous conference conflicts in the same halves of regions that would require significant seed manipulation to try to avoid. Until Thursday’s update, when we start seeing things really re-shape, we’ll try to keep true to seed ordering to give the most representative picture.

Why would North Carolina be a #7 and ND a #8? NC hasn't been a ranked team all season. ND's beaten 2.

Glockner, you're an idiot. This projection is a joke!

Can someone please explain why Cincinnati gets treated like a step child every year? And no, I'm not a fan so skip that comeback. They get roasted last year for playing nobody in their out of conference schedule, this year they play 3 possibly 4 tournament teams beating 3 of them and losing by 1 to the other. They have the 16th SOS, play in the brutal big east yet have 21 wins and they're the last 4 in going to a play in game? Sports Illustrated is on the bottom notch of bracketology...might as well just give it up. I would love to have you clowns in my bracket pool. Every year I see yours I piss my pants with laughter.

In the last week Ohio State beat Michigan State (2 seed by you), Indiana on the road (1 seed by you) and Illinois (8 seed by you) and you have them as a number 4?  What color is the sky in your world?

I don't see where all the love for TN comes from. Most of the Bracket gurus think Kentucky is one of the last 4 in, but seem to readily admit TN belongs in over AL, Ole Miss and KY. While I agree the SEC was down this year, who has TN beaten beside FLA ?

@g1818miller ,,, florida, kentucky, wichita st., mizzou, alabama, and you could argue xavier was a decent win as well

what's with the idiot media?  since feb 1, here is the score:

ohio state 7-3 (projected 4 seed)

michigan state 6-3 (projected 3 seed)

michigan 5-5  (projected 2 seed)

good grief, glockner, do you even follow college ball?

Way to many teams from the Big 10.  That conference is way over rated.

Glockner is lost. This bracket is nonsense!

Cincinnati's resume is far superior to Iowa State's.  And they won head to head.  Cincinnati has 1 more top 100 win, 1 more top 50 win.  Iowa State has 2 losses outside top 100.  Cincinnati has zero.  Their RPIs are a wash.  Iowa State is 5-9 away from home, Cincinnati is 8-5.

Also Iowa State has just one top-100 win away from home.  Cincinnati has four.  But maybe he's using best overall win to put Iowa State higher?  Well whoops, Cincinnati has that too with a win over #11 Marquette where ISU's best is over #20 Kansas State.  Just baffling.

As an ND fan, if we got stuck in a region with Indiana AND Louisville, I might cry.

@aboehm15 Joe Lunardi has us as a #7 seed in the East. We would play #2 Ohio State in the 2nd round. I like his projection a lot better!
