Duke forward Rodney Hood, who is expected to be a major piece in the revamped Blue Devils lineup this season, suffered what USA Basketball says is an “injured right Achilles” during Wednesday night’s practice.

Hood, who left the gym on crutches as a precautionary measure, didn’t seem to be in any great distress after the session. There is no further information at this point on the extent of the injury.

Hood, a transfer from Mississippi State who sat out last season, averaged 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds as a freshman for the Bulldogs in 2011-12.
